Amanda + Dan

September 15, 2008
Last week I met Amanda and Dan down in Annapolis for their engagement session. I love getting to know my clients! I had a ton of fun!  It is always an adventure to shoot in the same location but not take the same shots. I refuse to let my work get stale or factory like! :) Here we are down by the dock in the heart of downtown.

This is my favorite shot of the day. Just think it is cute, and love the tree.

Next to St. Mary’s Church. I shot a wedding there this past weekend so stay tuned for that post in the next few days!

After Annapolis, we headed to Amanda’s parents marina in Severn. Very cool place!

In the pic below, I was in the building above and took this shot through the broken glass.

Little did I know that I would get a boat ride!! Have I mentioned that I love my job?!? I take photos, hang out with super fun people, and I get to go on fun adventures! Love the texture of this… We took a boat out to this little island. Cute!

Same pic, but in color….

And now for the boat ride!

Dan is concentrating very hard.  :)

Love her ring!!!

ok…last, but not least. Meet Jake. Couldn’t resist. The last few are of Amanda’s brothers dogs.  This won’t be the last time you see dogs in Amanda and Dan’s post though… Amanda’s dog is in the wedding!!! I can’t wait! I was telling Amanda that she should check out this photographer Erin, who does pet photography. Amazing!

This is Mia.

Aren’t they cute?!

Melanie!

September 11, 2008
Meet Melanie!!! We did a senior portrait session in Old Ellicott City. Love that place! Love senior sessions! Melanie was such a fun senior!  She goes to Atholton High School, down in Columbia, MD…. Super smart gal, involved in the Art club, and starting an internship with a Johns Hopkins Prof. in the next few weeks!

Not sure if I like the color or b/w….

Ok, loved these pics! So cute! Thanks to the Irish store! We definitely had good favor around town! People were super nice and let us use their private stairwells, bar stools, restrooms for outfit changes…. old abandoned property……  :)

I was excited to take advantage of this old abandoned house… It has been abandoned for a couple of years…. Finally got to shoot there!

That’s all for now…. look for an engagement session of Amanda and Dan tomorrow (hopefully)!

Steve + Ashley

September 10, 2008
Meet Ashley and Steve! So cute! We went to Quiet Waters Park down in Annapolis for our session… What a cute park!

Just in time for a small peek of the sunset.

Ok…loved the willow tree….

Aren’t her eyes an awesome blue?!

Karin + Jason

September 8, 2008
Meet Karin and Jason! They are getting married next April at the Chesapeake Bay Beach Club.
We photographed their engagement session in Northern Virginia at Great Falls. What a gorgeous location!!! My husband and I have always talked about going there, and now I will most certainly make sure that we do! Take a look at that view!

Needless to say they spend/have spent a good amount of time in this area. Karin grew up near the Maryland side, and Jason was just a kid at heart out there! I definitely hate heights, and was amazed at how Jason just climbed all over the rocks like it was nothing! It was a HOT, HOT day…. Karin had on long pants and long sleeves! I don’t know how she wore that in such heat and managed to still look so good!!

 His shirt reads: “That’s how I roll…”

They were definitely troopers. There were a ton of bugs… and they did anything I suggested!

This was such a cool spot! Aren’t they cute?!?

The sign with all of the high water marks… It is AMAZING how high the water has come!!

Jason totally found this branch with all of the tendrils on it. I can’t take the credit.   :) Good eye Jason!

My final Birthday Post! (until next year) :)

September 5, 2008
Hello friends! I have been neglecting my blog!!! All of the summer travels were super fun, but made it interesting to keep up with life!  :)  It has also made it hard to accomplish the 50 gazillion business goals that are flooding my mind! More on those later.

I am posting again about my birthday. I am actually not a huge birthday person, despite what it might seem here on my blog, but my husband and his family are huge birthday people, and so I had to share the final details of my super cute, sweet husband and what he did (yes there is more) for my birthday!

Number 1, if you know my husband, take note of the time that he was making me coffee before our trip to PSU. Yep, 4:36 am.  If you don’t know my husband, know that he does not get up early, nor does he make coffee. This is only the 2nd time in our marriage that he made me coffee, and the first time, it somehow wasn’t coffee, just hot water in the carafe.  :)
Coffee was also much needed on the trip because I was so excited, I couldn’t sleep. I went to bed around 3:10, and woke up at 4:15  :)

While driving to Penn State, Josh told me to climb in the back to get a bag of surprises… so I found a bag (blue and white), and inside was a reservation at a hotel at PSU (very hard to come by on game day weekends)! This was exciting because he seriously had me convinced that we were sleeping in the car. I was prepared to do so, but the hotel was a wonderful bonus.  Did I mention that I had chocolate cake for breakfast with my coffee?   :) Terrible I know, but soooo delicious!  Can’t make that a habit!
That’s not it. In the bag there were also 2 t-shirts (one for me and one for Josh), that he had made (this was the 3rd attempt!). On the front they said: “Let’s go PSU” and on the back of his, it said “Go Penn State on her 28th.”    On the back of mine it said “Go Penn State on my 28th.”  He also had navy blue and white track jackets for us to wear in case it was chilly. Tell me he isn’t the best hubby ever!

Here is Josh at our tailgating lot. Yes, tailgating at 7:30 am.

Beaver Stadium!!!! Oh the excitement! Notice the student section to the top left…. empty right?

Now notice the same section… the students finally woke up and got their behinds to the game. See the S for State in the middle?!

A little action. Scored a touchdown a few seconds later…

Half time…

Here is Josh documenting funny fans. Can you tell we were in the alumni section?

And Josh, documenting the stadium… I actually love this pic. Very cool angle.

Ok, this next one is for all of the Penn State fans. It is kind of like “Where’s Waldo?”  The difference is that this one is “Where’s Joepa?”  I am going to make it a contest. The first one to find him will get a $10 gift card to itunes.  You can click on the photo and it will open in a new window. Save it on your computer and then either print it, circle him, scan it, and e-mail it to me, or open it in a program and circle him, and e-mail me the photo!  In case you don’t know Joepa, click here.

The next few photos aren’t exactly amazing composition, so try to look at them as strictly documenting the situation…..  :)

documenting our shirts…

Don’t mind the pole coming out of my head…

And the back….

And the final score. Penn State 66, Coastal Carolina 10. Hopefully we can have a good season if only our players would stay out of trouble!
