I am not Bakerella…..

December 31, 2009

So better late than never. Have you heard of Bakerella? Well, if you haven’t you NEED to go to her blog! I have no idea how I found it last year… but  I have been dreaming of (yes, it’s true) making these cute little reindeer cake pops since I saw them…..  This year a friend had a Christmas dinner which seemed like the perfect place to bring my cute Reindeer….

Let’s just say that I am NOT bakerella…. and I certainly tried… I thought I followed the directions to a T actually! But, needless to say… I only had 5 Reindeer Cake Pops at the end of my adventure, and so I didn’t have these cute little buggers to take to the Christmas Dinner. I am not sure why they didn’t work… and I might just have to try it again.

You might ask what happened to the 5 that I did make….

If you know me, you wouldn’t ask because you would already know… I ate them of course!  Yes, all 5.  They were delicious!

Here are a few pics of my best 3 of the 5… (Pretty sad)

This is Rudolph… as if you needed the explanation of the red nose…  This Rudolph has a runny nose.. It is cold season you know.

And now for the comparison that you have been waiting for…. It will now make sense why mine looked so very terrible! Here are the photos from Bakerella’s Blog. If you want to see the specific post you can click here.  Images (c) BakerellaReindeer Cake Pops

A Few New Products…

December 30, 2009

I am excited to share a new product with you… I have been looking at these for quite awhile and have finally taken the time to take some photographs to share these image boxes with you. I just love them and think that they are a great way to showcase your photos if you are looking for something different. They are available for any session that you have with me and are offered in 4×6 or a 5×7. They can hold anywhere from 50 -800 prints, so if you are looking for proofs of your session, this just might be it!

Love these for Boudoir Sessions… So that you can put “Your Little Black Box” somewhere safe…

You can get anything written on the spine…

And inside are your images…  If you purchase the CD of High Res Images, you can also see that there is a button on the inside to hold your CD. And there is a ribbon in there that you can use as a place holder between specific photographs or just for a decorative element.

Here is another example that I had made for a Senior Session…. This is the front or top of the box

And the Spine….

And just so that you can see the quality… here is the corner…

And the inside… You can always have your images ordered with a border. I think that it looks nice… Makes small photos look finished. Both examples on my blog are 5×7

And just so that you can see it… Here is a photograph of the inside corner. There is a magnet there so that it closes tightly…

Can’t wait to start sending these out to clients!

Annapolis Engagement Photography | Jessica + Nick

December 28, 2009

I had an awesome time in Annapolis the other afternoon for Jessica and Nick’s engagement session! They certainly were brave to do their engagement session in late January and the snow could not have come at a more perfect time! Annapolis looked gorgeous decorated for the Christmas holiday, and Jessica and Nick were a blast to photograph!

Jessica and Nick met in class and are currently still in school… They are architecture students working towards their masters degree’s so you can imagine how hard they are working! They were super excited because they had just finished up their last paper for the semester and had a week to relax!

I just love the light here!

So I was just telling Jessica and Nick how much fun it would be if they had sleds…. and then I turned around and saw 2 teenage boys with sleds. I ran after them and asked if we could borrow them for a few minutes and they kindly obliged!

They love hanging out in Annapolis and one of their favorite places to frequent is Cafe Normandie so we stopped in for a few photographs.

Love it! It’s like a Christmas movie….

They were up for anything!!!! Time for Snow Angels!

After the snow angels we went into Starbucks for a quick cup of coffee to warm up and then headed out for round 2, which was fun (and cold) since all of the evening and Christmas lights were on. Here is a quick photograph to show just how much snow there was…

This is one of my favorites of the day…

Winter.Bliss.

We stopped in a sushi restaurant for a sec…. these glittery things in the window caught my eye… and we had a few minutes of warmth. :)

And just for kicks…..

Thank you Jessica and Nick!!! I can’t wait for your big day!

The Cloisters | Wedding Photographer | Megan + Kevin

December 22, 2009

I know that I have disappeared again…. Things have been wonderfully crazy here with holiday print orders and getting ready for the holidays myself! I wanted to share Megan and Kevin’s wedding with you from this past October since I hadn’t blogged it. Megan and Kevin had their wedding at the Cloisters, and it was a beautiful wedding! It rained, more like poured…. all day, so we did not have the opportunity to take photographs outside on the gorgeous grounds, but the Cloisters Castle is amazing, so there were plenty of places for us to get a few photos. Here is a list of some of their great vendors!

Ceremony: Marikle Chapel (at the College of Notre Dame of Maryland)

Reception: The Cloisters

Invitations: Just Ink On Paper

DJ: Absolute Entertainment

Caterer: Putting on the Ritz

Videographer: Matt Baker with Priceless Moments Videography

Cake: Karen Rodkey  Cakes

Florist: Crimson and Clover Designs

Makeup: Amie Decker Makeup

Megan and Kevin are such a sweet couple!!! They have been such a sweet couple to work with… Both quiet, but I love to watch them interact… they have this quiet sweetness about their relationship…

He looks at her in adoration… and she responds with a smile and a grin…

Kevin is really great friends with their pastor so it was really great to hear such a personal message to the bride and groom.
