Megan + Felix | Engaged!

February 26, 2010

This week I had the opportunity to photograph a great engagement session in Annapolis. :)  I met Megan and Felix at a wedding that I shot last November with a fabulous couple (Katie and Randy) at the Newton White Mansion. Megan and Felix were both in the wedding party… and I had a blast with everyone at that wedding… so I was so excited when Megan and Felix contacted me about shooting their wedding this coming December. Can you tell they love the winter?!? They totally were ready to go out and shoot in the snow the day that we had the awful blizzard… and they banned cars from the roads… :)

So, we didn’t go in the giant blizzard, but we did go a week later and still caught some snow on the ground. Megan and Felix had me laughing the entire session. I had such a great time with them… and I can’t wait until their wedding! They seriously did anything that I suggested….  :)

Spent a few minutes at the playground… on the Monkey bars.. Looked like a lot of fun actually. :)  I used a slightly wintery color on a lot of these photos… so let me know what you think in the comment section. Do you like it? Or is it too much?

We had fun walking the streets of Annapolis… love trying to find new things since I end up shooting in Annapolis a lot… We ventured down a few different roads to see what we could find.

Not going to lie…. Megan certainly has her hands full with Felix… Gave him a minute to be in the spotlight… Felix, my favorite Puerto Rican…

So Megan and Felix met at Bob Evans in 2002… When she started working there Felix ended up training her… and she was not excited about it because she said he kept looking at her and she thought he was a creep…. turns out he was just really into her… and he later asked if he could kiss her (love that he asked) at the walk in, hence the cute note below…

And, I was so sad to hear that this actually isn’t the original engagement ring. :( The original ring was stolen… and it was from St. Thomas (did I get the right island Megan and Felix??) which, is Megan’s favorite island (if I remember correctly…that is).

Ok…. so Megan and Felix hopped in my car and we went for a little drive…spotted a cool barn… and headed over. They seriously were awesome because it was snowy and wet… kind of like a freezing cold snow swamp. Felix carried Megan through the snow like a good hubby to be… until he fell later… in the really deep and wet snow… So needless to say, they were totally wet and probably freezing… but still willing to do what I suggested. Thank you for trusting me.

This little field was really really wet and hard to get to… but these are some of my favorite shots…. I hope that your feet thawed out and that you like them!

Favorite of the day… Totally worth walking through the marsh… I did it too, but I did have boots on… so it doesn’t count.  :)  something about the dead winter brush… that I totally love.

Thanks Megan and Felix! You guys are awesome!!!

Happy Friday folks. Tomorrow is the start of my wedding season. I sure hope the wind slows down a bit or it will be a cold, cold day!!

Baby Sarah!

February 25, 2010

At the end of January I had the privilege to photograph my first birth, and it was absolutely amazing! I would love to do more birth sessions, so if you are interested or know someone who is certainly let me know. It was just amazing. If you didn’t see my post on it, you can click here to view the slideshow of the birth. And if you have no idea what a birth session is… check it out. Chances are that it is not what you think…. ;)

I also had the privilege to photograph Sarah’s parents, Beth and Ted for their maternity session, which you can view here.

They have opted to do a package that documents Baby’s First Year, so you can expect to see Sarah here again in another 3 months… and 6 months… and at a year old!  :)

Sarah is just precious… and I love all of that hair! We took a lot of photos in the nursery… Love Beth’s set up!

Pretty girl was wide awake for about 95% of the session…. but we did manage to get a few peaceful sleeping baby photos. Love this fuzzy rug that Beth has…. Might have to make an offer on it. I have been looking for something similar without any luck!

This might be my favorite…. love the little smile on her face. Dreaming of wonderful things…. So precious!

So stinkin’ cut….. Seriously… wish I could wear something fun like that!

The hat wasn’t happening… Says made for newborn… and I love it but as you can see it is a little bit big… and Sarah didn’t really like wearing it.  I think it might be because she likes showing off that gorgeous head of hair! I couldn’t resist blogging a few of the crying shots though…. I think they are so cute… and the cry is even cute. Of course I don’t live there and hear it all of the time…  :)

Poor babe!!! But, so cute!

Daddy was holding Sarah here…. and she was just wide awake looking at him… looking at the camera…. Such pretty eyes!

Isn’t the nursery cute?! I just love the blossoms on the walls!

So jealous. Seriously, with all of this cold weather, who doesn’t want to be wrapped up like a cozy ole’ burrito?!  I think it looks amazingly warm and perfect!

Not going to lie… was a little bummed Sarah didn’t like the fun pillow that I bought… ha ha…. Had to try….and I still think it is so cute!

Thanks Beth, Ted, and Baby Sarah! So excited to be back and watch your little peanut grow!!! It has been so much fun to be a part of your journey. I feel so blessed.

And to my blog readers… that is if I have any left after my 2 month hiatus…. I will be posting some fun things for you these days… I am back! And, I will share soon why I was so stinkin’ absent.  :(

Blessings!

Baby Grant

February 10, 2010

Meet baby Grant! He was born in November and I was excited to visit him!! Grant is the baby of one of my couples, Sarah and Jeff… and it was so much fun to spend some time with them and see their adorable kiddo! I love that most of my clients become friends. I feel so blessed to keep the relationships that I have made, and I just love watching their lives progress!

Such a cute little dreamer!

Proud Dad and Grant….

And of course there is Daisy! She is such a funny dog. Love her to pieces!

The happy family!

Can you tell that dad had a role in this shot? :)  Love it!

Thanks Sarah, Jeff, and Baby Grant!
