Megan + Felix | Engaged!
February 26, 2010This week I had the opportunity to photograph a great engagement session in Annapolis.
I met Megan and Felix at a wedding that I shot last November with a fabulous couple (Katie and Randy) at the Newton White Mansion. Megan and Felix were both in the wedding party… and I had a blast with everyone at that wedding… so I was so excited when Megan and Felix contacted me about shooting their wedding this coming December. Can you tell they love the winter?!? They totally were ready to go out and shoot in the snow the day that we had the awful blizzard… and they banned cars from the roads…
So, we didn’t go in the giant blizzard, but we did go a week later and still caught some snow on the ground. Megan and Felix had me laughing the entire session. I had such a great time with them… and I can’t wait until their wedding! They seriously did anything that I suggested….  :)
Spent a few minutes at the playground… on the Monkey bars.. Looked like a lot of fun actually.
I used a slightly wintery color on a lot of these photos… so let me know what you think in the comment section. Do you like it? Or is it too much?
We had fun walking the streets of Annapolis… love trying to find new things since I end up shooting in Annapolis a lot… We ventured down a few different roads to see what we could find.
Not going to lie…. Megan certainly has her hands full with Felix… Gave him a minute to be in the spotlight… Felix, my favorite Puerto Rican…
So Megan and Felix met at Bob Evans in 2002… When she started working there Felix ended up training her… and she was not excited about it because she said he kept looking at her and she thought he was a creep…. turns out he was just really into her… and he later asked if he could kiss her (love that he asked) at the walk in, hence the cute note below…
And, I was so sad to hear that this actually isn’t the original engagement ring.
The original ring was stolen… and it was from St. Thomas (did I get the right island Megan and Felix??) which, is Megan’s favorite island (if I remember correctly…that is).
Ok…. so Megan and Felix hopped in my car and we went for a little drive…spotted a cool barn… and headed over. They seriously were awesome because it was snowy and wet… kind of like a freezing cold snow swamp. Felix carried Megan through the snow like a good hubby to be… until he fell later… in the really deep and wet snow… So needless to say, they were totally wet and probably freezing… but still willing to do what I suggested. Thank you for trusting me.
This little field was really really wet and hard to get to… but these are some of my favorite shots…. I hope that your feet thawed out and that you like them!
Favorite of the day… Totally worth walking through the marsh… I did it too, but I did have boots on… so it doesn’t count.  :)  something about the dead winter brush… that I totally love.
Thanks Megan and Felix! You guys are awesome!!!
Happy Friday folks. Tomorrow is the start of my wedding season. I sure hope the wind slows down a bit or it will be a cold, cold day!!
