Kat + Patrick | Engaged!
April 11, 2010Last week I had the opportunity to meet Kat and Patrick…. and had an awesome time photographing them! They were recommended to me by one of my fabulous brides, Jennifer (who just had a baby!)… and I am so thankful for the referral!
Kat and Patrick originally hail from Chi-town… and are both here in grad school, working on their doctorates. Kat is a grad student at the University of Maryland, and Patrick is a grad student at Georgetown… which was the location that we used for the photos.
What an amazing campus! It was incredibly gorgeous!
And, Kat and Patrick were awesome to photograph! They made my job sooo easy! It was actually like I wasn’t even there…They were just having fun, being themselves, laughing… and were totally into one another.
I think Kat was smiling/laughing the entire session.
So….. we were across the way and a big gust of wind blew and made the blossoms rain…. Yes, I said rain. You get the picture.
So we all watched in amazement… and then waited for the wind to do it again, and of course it didn’t, BUT, there was a gentleman nearby and we just asked him to make it happen for us. I totally should have taken a photograph of him at work…. He was awesome, and he made the blossoms rain for us. As soon as we were done he left the bench he had been sitting on. Hopefully he didn’t leave because he thought I would recruit him again for more help…..
G-O-R-G-E-O-U-S……Look at the light in Kat’s eyes!
I have been to Georgetown… but really only on the main street, but Kat and Patrick took us on a walk to some really great places that they love going to… This is one of their spots.
And this cool old building was along the Canal…
Kat and Patrick were serious troopers! It had been calling for a storm… and we made it through the session, and as we were saying goodbye, the rain decided to start…. So, of course we took advantage of it…. only for a few minutes. It would have been awesome to play in it a bit more, but it was coming down super hard… and I don’t know that they wanted to get soaked…. not to mention that I didn’t have any kind of shelter for my equipment…. So we got a few shots, and then ran to our cars.
It was a fun little adventure… I was SOAKED! But, it was totally worth it!
Thanks Kat and Patrick!!! I can’t wait until the big day!
