Meet Lauren! She is a senior at River Hill High School… Talk about a gorgeous gal….she made my job super easy. :) She is super sweet…and smiled the entire time. I had such a great time walking around with her and her mom getting to know them!

Lauren loves horses and have been riding since she was 6.

She is a dancer and is on the dance company and the poms team at River Hill.

Lauren’s favorite color is pink…. and she is headed to Elon this fall to study biochemistry and then hopefully to Johns Hopkins to become a doctor.

And here she is…. LOVE the light!

Thanks Lauren for an amazing session!

Baby Brandon

April 18, 2010

You may or may not know…. but I am currently in Florida, just outside Orlando visiting my parents. I have had A LOT of sessions to share with you, but my parents are still slightly in the stone age here.. with dial up internet… yup, that’s right. There are people who still use it! They live in a retirement village in Fl.. and luckily some of their neighbors don’t know how to lock their high speed internet.. and so I do have scattered internet access… somedays…

Anyways… has been so wonderful spending some time with my parents since I had not seen them since Thanksgiving… and later today my photog besties are headed here (my parents left for Pa… they migrate in winter) for a few days to hang out and pick eachothers brains, shoot, share ideas, etc. Can’t wait to see these ladies….. although I am afraid we are down one girl because she missed her flight this am… and it isn’t looking good. :(

On to the photos! Before I left I had some great sessions! The first I want to share is baby Brandon. Maribeth and Mike were guests at a wedding that I photographed last July, and they contacted me to come and take photos of their precious newborn baby…

What a sweet, sweet family… including their 130 pound Great Dane Molly! I couldn’t believe how big she was and how teeny baby Brandon was!

And he was wide awake most of the session… happy as a clam but wide awake! :)

The entire family!

So cute!

Proud Daddy and his little boy…

Love Brandon’s nursery! So cute!

And these I just love! Thanks to little Sarah for this hat!

The hat matches his big blue eyes…

Maribeth and Mike just have gorgeous light in their house…. You couldn’t ask for better windows…. or a cuter child!

My favorite baby part…. the toesies!!!

Thanks Maribeth, Mike, and Baby Brandon for a great session!

Kat + Patrick | Engaged!

April 11, 2010

Last week I had the opportunity to meet Kat and Patrick…. and had an awesome time photographing them! They were recommended to me by one of my fabulous brides, Jennifer (who just had a baby!)… and I am so thankful for the referral!

Kat and Patrick originally hail from Chi-town… and are both here in grad school, working on their doctorates. Kat is a grad student at the University of Maryland, and Patrick is a grad student at Georgetown… which was the location that we used for the photos. :) What an amazing campus! It was incredibly gorgeous!

And, Kat and Patrick were awesome to photograph! They made my job sooo easy! It was actually like I wasn’t even there…They were just having fun, being themselves, laughing… and were totally into one another. :) I think Kat was smiling/laughing the entire session.

So….. we were across the way and a big gust of wind blew and made the blossoms rain…. Yes, I said rain. You get the picture. :) So we all watched in amazement… and then waited for the wind to do it again, and of course it didn’t, BUT, there was a gentleman nearby and we just asked him to make it happen for us. I totally should have taken a photograph of him at work…. He was awesome, and he made the blossoms rain for us. As soon as we were done he left the bench he had been sitting on. Hopefully he didn’t leave because he thought I would recruit him again for more help…..

G-O-R-G-E-O-U-S……Look at the light in Kat’s eyes!

I have been to Georgetown… but really only on the main street, but Kat and Patrick took us on a walk to some really great places that they love going to… This is one of their spots.

And this cool old building was along the Canal…

Kat and Patrick were serious troopers! It had been calling for a storm… and we made it through the session, and as we were saying goodbye, the rain decided to start…. So, of course we took advantage of it…. only for a few minutes. It would have been awesome to play in it a bit more, but it was coming down super hard… and I don’t know that they wanted to get soaked…. not to mention that I didn’t have any kind of shelter for my equipment…. So we got a few shots, and then ran to our cars. :) It was a fun little adventure… I was SOAKED! But, it was totally worth it!

Thanks Kat and Patrick!!! I can’t wait until the big day!

Amie + Nathan | Engaged!

April 8, 2010

Loving this beautiful weather and being on the upswing of shooting again!!! The winter is a little bit quiet, and I always enjoy it, but am always ready to head out and start shooting again.

So…… Amie and Nathan….

Let me just say that I CAN NOT WAIT to shoot this wedding! Amie’s details sound amazing! So, so fun! Sounds like she has been super creative and has some really great ideas! And they are getting married at the zoo! Should be so much fun! I haven’t shot a wedding at the zoo before.

She and Nathan were actually planning to get married this May, but had to move their date up to April because of a family circumstance… So actually… I now have the weekend of May 21/22 open for a wedding if anyone is interested…  but hopefully if you are getting married that soon you already have your photographer!

Anyways… back to Amie and Nathan… we went to Old Ellicott City to shoot their session, and had a great time! They wanted a bit of a vintage look, and we certainly had some fun on the railroad tracks! Love that they brought some props for their session to make it unique! And, Amie had her makeup done by the Fabulous Amie Decker, who will also be doing her makeup on the wedding day. If you do not have your makeup artist yet, BOOK AMIE DECKER! She rocks!

One of my favorites!

So fun!!!! Love the hats!

Such a sweet moment! Love Amie and Nathan together! Nathan actually lives in VA, and travels for his job A LOT…. and Amie lives here in Maryland, so they actually don’t get to spend that much time together as of now. But, after the wedding Amie will be moving down to VA for them to begin their new life together!

The best light of the day!!!! Love the evening light. G-E-O-R-G-E-O-U-S!

Thanks Amie and Nathan for an awesome session!

Just a few more weeks….
