Us | Maternity

October 29, 2010

So I said that Ainsley would be up next…. but  I figured that I might as well go in order… you know pregnancy…baby… fire…

We had Maria Vincencio take our Maternity Photos… if you don’t know her, CHECK HER OUT! She is awesome and we had been referring a ton of business to one anther but had not actually met, so I was super excited to meet her at our shoot, and couldn’t love our photos more! So, all of the credit goes to Maria for these photos… and the fabulous Amie Decker of Amie Decker Beauty did my makeup!

We had these photos done just 2 weeks before baby made an appearance. So these were taken at 35 weeks!

Please disregard my severe cankles…

Here are pics from Maria’s blog….

Thanks for stopping by!

Have an AMAZING Halloween weekend….

I have a fabulous wedding to shoot tomorrow! Check back for images next week!

Erin + John | Engaged!

October 27, 2010

A few days ago I headed to Old Town Alexandria to spend some time with Erin and John. They are getting married next May, and have been waiting for fall to come for their engagement session. :) You might remember Erin from a wedding last September. She was the Maid of Honor in her sister’s wedding at the Hotel Monaco in Old Town Alexandria…. Remember these ladies?? Erin is the gal on the bride’s (Nicole) left. :) So fun to work with folks that I have already had the opportunity to meet and spend some time with! Nicole and her other sister (on the bride’s right) were there helping Erin with her makeup for her engagement session…

On to the engagement session! Erin and John are super sweet… they smiled the ENTIRE time, which makes my job super easy! Love when couples just have fun and interact… those are the best moments.

Genuine. Sweetness.

A couple of times I tried to get them to be serious…. and loved it because instead of being serious, they cracked up. :)

Faaaaaavorite light!

Love the random places you can find just walking around places… this was a pretty cool spot.. the light was coming from a window… in a big old covered parking lot…

This was in the same place…. one of my faves…

We spent some time near the water… taking photos in areas that all of us can only dream of affording…. ;) Some of the properties along the water were just breathtaking!

So we were just walking down the street, and I spotted a cute old couple riding tandem…. and thought that might be fun. They were 100% up for it, and it was super cute….. and funny. I think Josh and I are going to have to give it a try someday….

John looks like he was having a blast!

Sooooo cute! Might have to do this again on the wedding day… Would be so cute for a bride and groom…. with a bouquet in a basket on the front…. maybe a little just married sign on the back….

The back of the bike rental shop that kindly let us borrow a bike without any collateral.

Thanks Erin and John for an awesome session!!!

I had a blast (and hope you did too…) and can’t wait until the wedding!

Up next….. some of Ainsley Grace… the adorable new addition to our family!

Emily + Mike | Engaged!!

October 26, 2010

Mike and Emily.

Met.

Fell in love.

To be married 7.30.11

I actually met Emily and Mike through a past client… You might recognize them from Erika and Danny’s wedding. You can click here to see Erika and Danny’s wedding feature in Baltimore Bride. Mike played the guitar for the ceremony, and Emily was one of Erika’s bridesmaids. See her on the top left?

Anyways, it all started through a mutual friend who thought they might hit it off… so she went to see him play, and it worked out!

Aren’t they incredibly sweet?!?

They laugh.

A lot.

See?! ;)

One of my favorites….

We walked around a park in the Glen Burnie area.. and it was absolutely gorgeous!

They have a new puppy. Luella…. She is the softest, sweetest golden retriever ever!

My favorite kind of light to play in…

So, Mike plays the guitar and Emily sings… So cute! Since my hubby and I are not musically inclined AT ALL, when I see things like this I feel like it is a movie set!

This one is also one of my favorites…. when we were taking these Emily and Mike were sitting on a football field a bunch  of little boys were practicing….  One of the kids asked them if they were having a romantic date. :)  It was super cute, and thanks to Emily and Mike who were willing to have a “romantic date” on the field during practice…

I have said this a thousand times, but I will say it again and again…. I love my clients and feel so blessed to do what I do. I think it helps that I am the age or close to the age of a lot of my clients… Hopefully I won’t be the old lady outdated photographer in the future… please tell me when I start to become that!!

I had such a great time with Emily and Mike, and I have to say… Mike is pretty shy, and Emily was nervous… and the photos below are the first photos of the session. They could have hated me for suggesting some of them….but they didn’t! I think they are super fun!

We went to Ann’s Hot Dog Shop… officially known as Ann’s Dari-Creme. It s a place that they love to go to… and they spend every Valentine’s Day there. They said they are generally the only people there, but I am going to say, that this year Josh and I might be joining them. This is hands down going to be Josh’s new favorite place to go!

Thanks Emily and Mike for a great session! I am looking forward to the wedding!!!

Next on the blog… Erin and John!

And some other sessions that you haven’t seen from right before we had Ainsley…. and of course some pics of Ainsley too!

Emmie + Carl | Married!

October 25, 2010

Emmie and Carl are one of the sweetest couples ever!!! I remember meeting Emmie for the first time, and I just loved her. She has to be one of the happiest people that I have ever met. She is bubbly, excited, and full of smiles. It is no wonder Carl fell in love with her!  She also LOVES pink. I have always said that I love pink, but Emmie LOVES pink… and my like of pink is like a spec of dust compared to hers. So, I am sure that it wouldn’t surprise you to see a wedding full of pink details! You will have to take a peek at the slideshow to see some of her great ideas. There wasn’t anything that she didn’t think of!! I may have to showcase some of them in another post!

Thanks to some amazing vendors who helped to make Emmie and Carl’s day spectacular:

Florist: Flowers by Sylvia

Caterer: Putting on the Ritz

Cake: Grauls Market

Venue: The Great Room at Savage Mill

DJ: Tinker Tunes

And now to the photos…. Emmie’s mom helping her get ready….

I just thought that the light here was cool…. One of her fabulous bridesmaids!

Emmie looked amazing… and had the most perfect fall weather!!

The handsome groom. :)  Carl is also one of the nicest people. He seems to be a bit shy…and is super kind and polite and willing to do anything that I ask…. He seems to be a man of few words, but when he has something to say it is important and thought out. A quiet strength in their relationship. :)

And these guys had to be some of the cutest ringbearers ever! Had so much fun taking photos of them… They were absolute hams!

The Newlyweds right after the ceremony….

First Dance…. LOVE the great room….

Incredibly sweet. A woman in love…

After the wedding ended we headed over to Ram’s Head at Savage Mills to get a few more photos since time during the day was so short…

Thanks Emmie and Carl for being so sweet and fabulous to work with! I hope that you had an amazing time in Hawaii!

Below is a slideshow if you want to view more images from the day.
