Faith and Rob just got married…. check out their unique wedding post here.  We just met for their After Session…. and they rocked it…. For a number of reasons:

1. It was about 98 degrees… with the heat  index at about 105. Canceling or rescheduling was not even on the radar

2. They brought someone along (her brother) to help with her train (b/c it is big, heavy, and has multiple layers)

3. Said person also had a cooler of beverages to keep them hydrated

4. And also towels to wipe sweat, etc.

5. She got her makeup done by Amie Decker Beauty

6. Her dress was a magnet for bugs, including grasshopper like things, and spiders… and even with this, she sat in any area I asked her to… including long grass up to her waist

7. They play the role of their look like Champs…. for real… thought I might have been in England for a few minutes…

8. They never hesitate to do anything I suggest…

9. They said they want me to take family photos when they have kids…. yay! Love being a part of clients growing families! (they are not pregnant…. just talk of future)  :)

10. They are the nicest people EVER.

See what I mean? They totally play the part.  :)  This is completely unprompted.

Marnie and Karl recently got married in Miami, Fl… attended a wedding that I shot (remember Megan and Jon?) and contacted me about an after session with Marnie’s horses…

So, I headed out to Marnie’s parents farm, Goose Green Farm… which was absolutely gorgeous, and we took some photos… Marnie looked fabulous!

Marnie changed out of her dress and we did some lifestyle shots around the property…Had a blast and they were troopers!

If you have been following the blog for awhile, you might remember Megan and Kevin from their wedding at the Cloisters Castle in Lutherville. You can view their wedding blog post here.

They got married last October… and it RAINED! So, we headed back to the Cloisters for some more photos…. to take advantage of the beautiful outdoor scenery!!! Such a gorgeous place… and a gorgeous couple!

Since getting married… they bought a new house… got a dog… and are just enjoying each other! It was so good to see them again. I will say that I thought Kevin was super shy… turns out he is not shy at all… Must have been the wedding day jitters…

So last week I met Katie and Randy for a little after wedding fun… I actually don’t like calling it a Trash the Dress Session… because that is not really the case… at least for my philosophy in shooting after the wedding….and I would say that 99% of my clients who have one feel the same way…

So, with that said, if you have any input on what I could call the session… leave me a comment and let me know what you think it should be called!

So Katie and Randy… they were married in the fall and waited until the spring weather decided to come for their session. If you want to view the images from their wedding you can click here, and just scroll down the page. They got married at the Newton White Mansion…. awesome venue!

Katie totally cracks me up! I love that every email she sends makes me laugh out loud… I wish we lived closer together…  :)  She is such a sweet person who is full of life and energy, and I 100% see why Randy is head over heels in love with her!  I should share some of the behind the scenes photos from our session… there are some pretty funny ones. She is definitely a ham!

We went to Brookside Gardens for their session… and had the most incredible light to shoot in. I just love the early evening light!

Ok… this is it…. Last session from my shoot with Amie Decker and her team! Meet Tina…. and seriously…. Tina is super sweet…. and actually just had a baby 10 weeks ago…. Does she not look amazing?!?! Such a gorgeous gal…. and of course the team did an excellent job!

Can’t wait to work with Amie and some of her girls this coming wedding season….

And just a side note…. I had mentioned that my branding is being redone by Carla David….and we are on our last set of revisions… I CAN NOT WAIT to share the new look with you all…. It will be new colors, a new website, a new blog, etc…. And it is going to rock!

So when Amie told me who the models were… I was super excited because I actually know Grace! She was awesome… It was fun to take photos for her and just catch up on life while we shot…. Doesn’t she look stunning?!?!

I know I have said this several times, but if you don’t have a makeup/hair stylist for your wedding day (or any other occasion or session with me) you have to call Amie and her team. They really are amazing women and are so talented!

Gorgeous Grace. I think I might just call her that from now on…

Yesterday was a crazy busy day, and it all started with an awesome photo shoot in Ellicott City with Melissa! I met Melissa last year at one of my January weddings. You might remember the bride, Sarah from her wedding or the recent session with her new babe.  She did the hair and makeup and did an amazing job! You should check her out at the Renaissance Hair Studio and Day Spa in Hunt Valley, Md!

We seriously lucked out with the most gorgeous weather! It is so crazy how a nice day like yesterday (and today) can put you in such a good mood!

Melissa and I had an awesome time playing around in Ellicott City, taking photos, and chatting about life… It is always funny to see people’s reactions when there is a bride wandering around in her wedding dress. She got so many ‘Congratulations’ and ‘Good Luck!’ and she also had a lot of men telling her she was beautiful, wanting to be in photos with her, or asking her to marry them…..

So, with that said, Melissa and I decided that a really effective (note that I am not saying best) way for single gals to meet some guys is to put on  wedding dress and galavant around town.

Doesn’t Melissa look gorgeous?!?!  And she did her hair and makeup herself. Love her hairpiece!

So classy….

I will say that I have a new appreciation for bridemaids who have to button all of those little teeny tiny buttons on the back of a brides gown! I did it… and it took me forever! But it was totally worth it!

So glad that the sun has decided to shine in Maryland again after a long harsh, freezing winter! So a little flare to celebrate!

I know I have totally shot here before… Not going to lie…  This is one of my most absolute favorite spots in Old Ellicott City! A lot of seniors usually like going there… but this is the first bride that I have up on that door. Melissa was definitely brave!

Ummmmm….. can you say beautiful?!? Her husband Ryan is a lucky man!

We did venture up the stairs to a balcony in the heart of downtown…. We didn’t stay long because there were a ton of nasty icky bugs! Melissa braved it…. and luckily none made their way onto… or into her dress.  :)

And to blog readers… I know I keep saying that I am back… and I really am!!! Josh and I were in Las Vegas from March 4-11th for WPPI, Wedding and Portrait Photographers International.  I did plan to blog while there, but the days were full of classes, walking around the tradeshow, and catching up with photographer friends from around the country. We had an amazing time…. and came back utterly exhausted. Heck, there were somedays that I would get back from classes at 9pm (after a full day of them starting at 8am) and just crash! But, we are really excited about what the future holds! I have a lot of fun news and things to share with you as time continues… so as these things start to unfold (some personal and some business, and some just fun!) I will share them with you here on the blog. The tradeshow was great and I am ordering some new samples to introduce some new products that we will be offering. So, apologies for not blogging…there was not much time, and quite frankly internet service was pretty expensive per day, and there wasn’t even time to use it!

So things have been quite exciting here over the past year… 2009 was a really amazing year… full of amazing clients, lots of learning and growing…. making processes better…etc.

One thing that I am particularly excited about is the addition to the team!  Katy and I met at Starbucks to go over a few things… She wanted me to advertise in Modern Babies and Children, and she was also interested in a Trash the Dress Session….so we met…. and chatted about those things for about 15 minutes and then spent another 4 hours in Starbucks chatting about life. Since that day, Katy has been an amazing friend, and I am so excited to tell you that she is the new editor for Meaghan Elliott Photography!!! The team is growing….  I actually have another individual to introduce to you shortly…but for now enjoy some photos of Katy…. the woman who will give your photos all of the love and attention they deserve!
